Deeply rooted in the history of painting, the artist offers a sensitive reflection on
the tension between the intimate and the collective. Drawing from his daily life, he
composes suspended scenes imbued with a quiet theatricality, where objects and bodies become the remnants of a present that is both familiar and unsettling. Working in layers—photography, staging, painting—he constructs dense images where chiaroscuro sculpts the matter and evokes the ghosts of genres such as portrait, landscape, and still life.
These works resonate with the legacy of Roger Pailhas, reaffirming through painting the power of art to bring forth a shared memory from the everyday.
