Zhuo Qi, born in 1985 in Fuxin, Liaoning Province, China, lives and works between France and China. In his artistic practice, he has developed the concept of the “poétif,” a creative approach that fuses poetry and action to respond to the contradictions and uncertainties of the contemporary world. This term reflects his quest for an original artistic language and his deep exploration of materials.

His works engage a wide variety of materials—ceramics, glass, metal, paper—which he transforms and reinvents through innovative experimentation, revealing their cultural memory and latent potential. The notion of the “poétif” thus becomes a way of navigating misunderstandings and differences, generating unexpected connections and unique expressions. His creations revisit historical traditions while challenging conventional frameworks.

Both humorous and poetic, Zhuo Qi’s works embody a subtle balance between familiarity and strangeness. By bringing together apparent contradictions, he invites the viewer to adopt a renewed perspective. Through his constant exploration of materials and forms, he reinvents our perception of the world and offers a profoundly transformative artistic experience.

His recent exhibitions include Maison Guerlain in Paris (2021), Jinhua Cultural Center (2023), Shanxi Museum Exhibition Centre (2024), and Being Art Museum (2025).
