The Jousse Entreprise and Les filles du calvaire galleries are joining forces to host the third edition of the Prix Utopi·e from February 6 to February 22, 2025. This initiative is dedicated to LGBTQ+ artists whose practices challenge the conventional model of contemporary plastic and performative representation through a militant lens. Galerie Jousse Entreprise (6 Rue Saint-Claude) and Galerie Les filles du calvaire (21 Rue Chapon) will each present one work from every artist, creating a dialogue between the two spaces.

This exhibition at Galerie Les filles du calvaire aims to showcase works that are either entirely new or reinterpretations of pieces first presented during the inaugural iteration at the Centre Wallonie-Bruxelles in September 2024. Within this framework, the exhibition particularly explores the idea of in-betweenness. For the twelve winning artists, this in-betweenness reflects a lived reality—one of uprootedness but also reconstruction. Regardless of their personal experiences, their works embody a relentless search for belonging and emancipation, resonating with the idea of recreating safe spaces outside dominant norms.

These spaces, both fertile and fragile, give form to narratives of affection, resilience, and solidarity, interweaving the cultural, social, and gender identities of each artist.
