Marie Quéau | Fury, LE BAL, Paris, France

28.11.2025 – 08.02.2026 | Solo exhibition

Marie Quéau, winner of the 5th edition of the Prix LE BAL / ADAGP de la Jeune Création, is exhibiting her work at LE BAL from 28 November 2025 to 8 February 2026.

How do we learn to fall, to throw ourselves out of a window, to die, to smash everything on cue? In FURY, Marie Quéau presents bodies confronted with extreme states: stunt performers repeatedly thrown from windows, actors in trance inside motion-capture studios, freedivers holding their breath in static immersion on the edge of drifting away, individuals unleashing their rage in a fury room.

Faced with a world where logic slips away, Marie Quéau focuses on the poetic figures of reversal: the fall as the underside of flight, a body that absorbs injury or accident on behalf of another, a trance state converted into data by the machine, violence staged and theatricalised in order to survive it.

Marie Quéau’s work invites us to question our own perception of reality. What if these moments of confrontation with limits—when body and mind waver between control and surrender—revealed what binds us most intensely?
