Juul Kraijer | Metamorphoses, Rijksmuseum Amsterdam, Amsterdam, The Netherlands

06.02.2026 – 25.05.2026 | Group exhibition

Juul Kraijer is featured in the exhibition Metamorphoses at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, which explores Ovid’s narratives and their resonance throughout the history of art. The exhibition highlights the universal themes of the Metamorphoses, including passion, desire, jealousy, cunning, and transformation, and shows how gods, humans, and animals continuously change form, from ancient myths to contemporary interpretations.

Among more than 80 works from international collections, Kraijer presents a video installation inspired by the myth of Medusa, in dialogue with masterpieces by Titian, Correggio, and Caravaggio, as well as modern works by Ulay, Magritte, and Bourgeois.

Through her work, she extends the reflection on transformation and change, situating her pieces in a living dialogue with art history and foundational myths, while offering a contemplative and poetic experience of a world in flux.
