Rencontre et signature autour du travail de l’artiste Diana Markosian, avec Lou Stoppard

La Maison Européenne de la Photographie (MEP) | Vendredi 14 novembre 2025 de 18h à 19h30

On the occasion of Paris Photo, the MEP presents a special program celebrating photography, including a conversation between artist Diana Markosian and independent curator Lou Stoppard.

This discussion will offer an opportunity to explore Diana Markosian’s work, her artistic journey, and her recent projects — in particular her latest monograph, Father (Atelier EXB, 2024).

In this book, the photographer presents an intimate and moving narrative about distance, absence, and reconciliation, retracing her relationship with her father, who disappeared from her life when she was only seven years old and whom she reconnected with nearly twenty years later in Armenia.

Through a combination of documentary photographs, family snapshots, texts, and archival materials, Father examines universal themes of fatherhood, separation, loss, and reunion, transforming her personal experience into a reflection on memory, identity, and familial bonds.

Presented this year at the Rencontres d’Arles, Father was awarded the Prix de la Photo Madame Figaro Arles 2025, honoring Diana Markosian’s sensitive and singular body of work. The talk will also revisit her distinctive practice, which combines documentary photography with a conceptual approach, as well as her previous project, Santa Barbara.

The discussion will be followed by a book signing in the bookstore starting at 7 p.m.
