The Grand Hall of the Cité de l’Économie presents Kourtney Roy – All Inclusive, a new exhibition exploring globalized tourism through the lens of the Canadian photographer, showcased at the Rencontres d’Arles 2025.
Through a selection of thirty photographs, Kourtney Roy immerses visitors in a world that is at once sensitive, colorful, and cinematic. Pristine beaches, glamorous hotels, flawless skies: the artist reinterprets the idealized images of contemporary tourism, revealing their subtle contradictions. Her staged scenes, both alluring and unsettling, confront the dream of vacation with a more complex reality.
In dialogue with these images, the Cité de l’Économie offers an economic perspective on global tourism, inviting visitors to reflect on contemporary challenges: social inequalities, environmental impact, marketing strategies, and territorial transformations.
