From October 24, 2026, Maya Inès Touam presents Belongings (Ce qui nous appartient) at Huis Marseille in Amsterdam, her first solo exhibition in the Netherlands.
Bringing together elements from different times, cultures, art movements and religions, the exhibition reflects Touam’s distinctive approach to the still life. Through carefully constructed digital collages, she intertwines objects, symbols and visual references, from North African architecture and inherited myths to vanitas painting and the work of Henri Matisse.
Moving beyond traditional oppositions between North and South, her compositions explore migration, motherhood, displacement and our relationship with nature, allowing histories and cultural references to resonate anew in the present.
