For this new edition of Art Paris, Les filles du calvaire initiates a dialogue shaped by transformation, hospitality, and embrace.

This proposal brings together artists whose intention is to lead the viewer as close as possible to a reality that remains impossible to fully grasp. Their diverse approaches, rooted in histories, myths, and distinctly contemporary sensibilities, reveal how our era—layered with strata and narratives—can both shape us and lead us astray.

The artists presented work to give form to unprecedented figures, traversed by multiple temporalities. Taken as a whole, the exhibition evokes the experience of a new beginning: as though moving across still-vibrant ruins, the works suggest the possibility of reconstructing the self, the living, and our ways of inhabiting the world.

It thus becomes an attempt to regain breath and restore balance, through poetry understood in its etymological sense—poiein, to create. Through this sensitive dialogue, the gallery reaffirms its commitment to supporting practices that question contemporaneity, while maintaining an active connection to the histories and imaginaries that precede us.
